Tripoli to Host Union of Arab Maghreb Trade Fairs

The directors of trade fairs in the Arab Maghreb Union (AMU) member countries, at a meeting in Tripoli decided to establish the AMU countries' Union of trade fairs whose headquarters will be in Tripoli.

The meeting chose the Secretary of the management committee of the Libyan General Office of Trade Fairs, Jamal Lemouchi, as president while the Union of Maghrebine fairs in Tunisia was appointed vice-president.

The preparatory meeting of the AMU countries' Union of trade fairs also agreed to organise the first annual edition of the Maghrebine fair this year in Algeria. It also adopted a schedule to set the venues and dates of other similar annual sessions in the rest of the other AMU countries.

Mr Lemouchi and his counterparts from Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria and Mauritania agreed on the organisation of a fair for children from AMU countries alongside a book show in each AMU country alternatively, and the establishment of a Maghrebine academy devoted to the fair industry whose headquarters would be in Tunis.

Panapress reported that the meeting was devoted primarily to the review of the statutes of the Maghrebine Union of trade fairs, its principles, regulations and organisational structures.
