Official Final Election Results in Libya Show Liberals Got 62 Percent of Votes

In a ceremony at the Libyan elections ‘media centre on Tuesday evening in the Libyan capital, Tripoli, the official primary results of the first free election voting in Libya since 1952, were announced indicating that the National Forces Alliance (NFA) has emerged the strongest among the parties that contested the election, by gaining 39 seats, or 62 per cent of the votes. In second place, the Justice and Construction Party (JCP) has gained 17 seats.

As to the other parties, the National Front Party has gained three seats, while the Union Party for Homeland, Wadi Al-Hayat Gathering and the Central National Current won two each.

The rest, that is, Al-Watan Party, Wisdom Party, Central Umma Gathering, the Libyan Freedom and Development, National Parties Block, National Libyan Party, The Substrate Party, The Message Party, Labbaik Gathering, National Party for the development of Welfare, Wadi Al-Shati National Party, Tradition and Innovation Gathering, Shabab Al-Wasat, the Homeland and Women Party, and the Progress and Originality, all got one seat each.

It was also announced that the 61 percent of males of those eligible to vote cast their vote, while women voters totalled 39 percent.

The head of the Election Commission, HNEC, Mr Nouri al-Abbar, further announced that only 3 percent of the votes from an overall total of more than 1.8 million were invalid.

The official results will be announced after 14 days during which all appeals against the results are reviewed which will take the first 48 hours and then another 10 days to be reviewed by the appeals court.

The independents contesting for the remaining 120 seats that have been reserved for individual candidates, are the ones who will reveal the real power of each political group in the National Congress.

Primary officials results indicate that liberals are leading is really a matter of appreciation.The entire world is waiting and watching of this result impatiently .The people of libya have shown practical wisdom by giving full mandates to the People who reall y want to see libiya developing map of the world in contrary of those psuedo relgious groups who want to impose imported and distorted religious belief on the independent democratic people of libya
