The General People's Committee decided on Wednesday to impose total blockade on economic and trade relations with Switzerland. The blockade includes both public and private trade and economic relations with this European country.

The GPC said the decision was made in response to the call by the Leader of the Revolution during his speech on the birth of the Prophet Mohammad on 25 February, as well as a response to persistent Swiss anti-Islam policies.

It also said measures are being taken to find alternative exporters of medical equipments and medicine, and electric supplies among other things.
